Jeremy Roenick Hockey School Returns to Chicago
JRHS announces its star-studded instructional team as the program returns
to the Windy City for its third year
CHICAGO, IL – Former Olympic medalist and National Hockey League (NHL) player Jeremy Roenick, today announced the coaching roster for both his youth and adult schools, which each take place in the city where Roenick kicked off his 20-season career in the NHL.
This year’s roster includes two-time Stanley Cup winner Brad Lukowich, Mike Brown, Reid Simpson, and Cosmo Clarke. Both the youth and adult schools will be held at the Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills, Illinois, July 21-26 and July 23-26, respectively. The youth camp aims to challenge young athletes to develop their mental and physical skills in a fun and creative environment through both on-and-off-ice training sessions, as well as personal development sessions that cover topics such as strength and conditioning, nutrition, and leadership skills. The adult camp features four days of on-ice development. All camps include a scrimmage game on the final day, limited edition JR Hockey School jersey and socks.
“I started the JR Hockey School as a way to share my passion for the game and help give back to kids looking to improve,” says Roenick, who was the Chicago Blackhawks’ 8th-overall pick in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. “I'm collaborating with some of the best instructors who will offer world-class instruction on and off the ice. We will do this in environment that encourages hard work, creativity and most of all fun.”
Launched in 2017, the school has featured many NHL celebrity guests, including Jeremy himself, who attends camp each day, Patrick Kane, Chris Chelios, Reid Simpson, Brad Lukowich, Daniel Carcillo, Ryan Hartman, Vinnie Hinostroza, Mike Brown, and Connor Murphy.
